Pillars of Freedom (http://www.pillars-of-freedom.com/) is an international art project celebrating freedom. 112 artists from 20 countries made 100 sculptures at least 2 meters high, in a public place, with the theme of freedom. On November 9, 2017 all the artists and sculptures were united over the internet, with the main event taking place in Germany. The date is significant as the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
I made Pillars of Freedom in both Alsdorf, Germany and Toledo, Ohio, and photos of both are in this portfolio. On November 9, 2018 a book about the project by Alfred Mevissen was published. Books may be ordered here: http://www.nibe-versand.de
